Privacy policy

Plain language, no tracking, and specific rules for junior drivers.

Layerstop is a one-person design studio run by Shashish A in Bengaluru, India. This policy explains what personal data layerstop.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website and to the forms on it. Questions: email me.

What this site collects

  • Nothing by default. layerstop.com runs zero tracking or advertising scripts and sets no tracking cookies.
  • What you type into a form. The teardown form collects a website URL and an email. The motorsport audit form collects your role, name, email, the driver's series and Instagram handle, an age bracket (never a date of birth), and, for drivers under 18, a parent or guardian's name, email and consent.
  • Bookings. If you book a call, Cal.com processes the booking under its own privacy policy.
  • Server logs. The host may keep standard request logs (IP address, browser, page) for security and aggregate traffic figures.

Why, and on what basis

Form data is used only to reply to you and deliver what you asked for: a teardown, an audit, or a call. The legal basis under UK GDPR and EU GDPR is your request (steps before a contract) and, for under-18s, the consent of a parent or guardian. Nothing is sold, shared for marketing, or added to a mailing list.

Drivers under 18

  • For any driver under 18, a parent, guardian or manager is the contact, and an audit request needs a guardian's details and consent.
  • Only an age bracket is collected, never a date of birth.
  • An audit looks only at what is already public about the driver.

What's public on a driver's site, and what isn't

On a website Layerstop builds for a driver, these may be public once the driver (or their guardian) approves them: name, racing story, results, calendar, approved photos, sponsors, and a contact form. These are never published: home address, school, date of birth, personal phone number or personal email.

Client sites and analytics

If a client asks for analytics or company-visit tracking on their own site, Layerstop sets it up as their processor, under the client's instructions, and the client's site carries its own privacy policy disclosing it. That data belongs to the client.

How long it's kept

Enquiries that don't become projects are deleted within 12 months. Project correspondence is kept for as long as needed for invoicing and tax records, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent at any time. Email me and it's handled within 30 days. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

Where it's processed

Layerstop is based in India, and form submissions pass through FormSubmit and land in an email inbox. By sending a form you understand your data is processed outside the UK and EU for the purposes above.
